Minifigure Museum: Sad Clown (Series 10)

Sad Clown:  LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 10

The Sad Clown was the first figure in the LEGO Collectible Minifigure line to actually be depressed.  His face shows him shedding a tear (probably from his hideous all white-and-black get-up).  He's so depressing, in fact, that even my puppy is looking sad!

Overall, I think the 10th edition of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series was quite strong.  Unfortunately, in every group of objects there has to be a weakest link - and for Series 10 the weakest link is almost definitely the Sad Clown.

Basically, the biggest problem with the Sad Clown is how useless his various pieces are for other purposes.  His face is white with a tear drop - and while the hat is a new mold for the figure it's still fairly difficult to envision using it on other figures.

Finally, even the back of the Sad Clown is depressing - that's right, not a single bit of printing to be found.

If this spotlight on the Sad Clown is too depressing for you, rest assured that the rest of the figures in Series 10 are much better.  In fact, Series 10 has at least a couple of figures that I consider to be among my all-time favorites...and maybe one or two more that could make that list if only I actually owned them (here's what I'm missing).

With that, I'll leave you with one last sad picture as we bid adieu to Sad Clown...

  1. He reminds me of Puddles - The Sad Clown with the Golden Voice. Give him the crown from the Series 13 King figure and he'd be spot-on!
