This is it, the final day of the 2025 LEGO City Advent Calendar!
Day 24:
In a move that will surprise absolutely no one, LEGO once again ended this year's City Advent Calendar with a Santa Claus minifigure.
While folks who buy the City Advent Calendar year after year undoubtedly have plenty of the Santa figures, it's hard to blame LEGO for including one each year. If I were to have a complaint, it's that this year's figure is exactly the same as last year's, right down to the sack accessory. Last year, I gave Santa a 4/5, but this year I feel I have to dock it a point since it's the exact same as last year (LEGO should have given us a different accessory, maybe a candy cane?).
Now that we've opened all 24 doors, let's see what the entire calendar looks like complete:
Overall, this year's calendar netted a score of 90/120.
2025 LEGO City Calendar score: 90/120
2024 LEGO City Calendar score: 92/120
2023 LEGO City Calendar score: 90.5/120
As you can see, the three most recent LEGO City Advent Calendars have been remarkably consistent in terms of their overall scores (and remember, I docked one point today because the Santa matched last year, but if you want, feel free to award one more point to this year's calendar)! Overall, I think this year's Calendar has the best collection of minifigures (I love the Christmas costumes) out of the previous three years. I very much enjoyed opening up the calendar this year (and my son built almost every day's surprise, which was also fun for him). I hope LEGO continues to churn out interesting City Advent Calendars, and if they do, I hope you come back next December for another run through of a calendar!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours! My best guess is that I'll return to blogging here at Playing with Bricks after the New Year, but fear not, I have no plans to vacate this blog next year! See you in 2026!
