A Pair of LEGO Series 28 Collectible Minifigures

I was at Target the other day and saw a shelf full of Series 28 LEGO Collectible minifigures.  I've (mostly) gotten out of collecting each full line of minifigs (I'm still working on Series 1 through 21).  That said, I couldn't resist grabbing a pair of blind boxes, especially since Series 28 is all about costumed characters.

In fact, here's the full checklist for Series 28:

From the photos, my favorite figures appear to be the Peacock, the Goldfish, the Dalmation, the Alligator, and the Lion.  That said, I kind of like all of the figures (except the cat, what can I say, I'm not a cat person)!  Given that, let's see what my two boxes hold.

First up, it's the Peacock, complete with a sunflower.

I love the tailfeather piece and the vibrant colors used throughout the minifigure (fitting of a peacock, of course).  The little sunflower build is nice, that's my first time seeing the new flower petal piece (I can only hope that piece shows up in future LEGO sets)!

And now for the second blind box:

Yep, I went two-for-two on getting figures I was really hoping to land!

The Alligator is wonderful - I love the large spiky tail piece, and the life ring piece is also new (at least, it's new to me).  Heck, even getting a rubber ducky is a nice bonus for an accessory.  Good stuff all the way around here.

I certainly enjoyed ripping (and building) a couple of minifigures.  That said, I'm kind of burnt out on the LEGO Collectible Minifigure line as a whole.  I doubt I'll be purchasing any more from this set (though I wouldn't turn down getting the Goldfish or Dalmation at some point).  Maybe if (when?) I finish off some of the older Minifigure Series, then I can start thinking about adding even more sets to my want list!

  1. Both of these minifigures look really nice. Lots of accessories and decorations.
