Today, I'm back with another brick review - this time it's a smaller Lumibricks set: the Newsstand, set #15001
Note: If you decide to give Lumibricks a try, please consider using my affiliate link. This particular set was gifted to me by Lumibricks, but no review was expected or required. All opinions are my own!The Newsstand set contains 566 pieces and is part of Lumibricks "Town Life" series. The set has a suggested retail price of $34.99 (but if you use my referral link, you can save some money, and I can get a few bonus points - much appreciated)!
I love the torso printing on the one included minifigure (the newsstand worker). I'll say that the look of the Lumibricks minifigures is also growing on me; they look a bit more "lifelike" than LEGO, especially when in an "action" shot like walking or dancing.
For such a small set, I found the build experience to be quite fun. Of course, the printed pieces (and lights) help a lot!
Speaking of printed pieces, the above photo is only a small sampling of the various printed goodies included in the set (every design you see is a proper print; there are no stickers)! LEGO should take notes.
The Newsstand isn't much on play, but it does look perfect in almost any brick city display. I plan to (eventually) redo my LEGO table to incorporate a lot of my Lumibricks sets. This Newsstand will probably be modified to be an underground subway news kiosk of sorts.
Overall, I found this to be a great little set. It offers MUCH more value than a comparatively sized (and priced) LEGO brand set. Lumibricks has officially converted me, I think!
I have a couple more Lumibricks sets to build from a recent purchase that I made. I hope to continue to do my reviews (you can find more brick-related goodies over on my Instagram).

A. Great looking set. Love all of the printed pieces.
ReplyDeleteB. I was going to ask if you were going to integrate the Lumibricks sets into your Lego city. I feel like my crazy brain wouldn't allow me to mix them up. Then again... it's not like I don't mix up card brands when I'm putting together a player or team binder.
To be honest, other than the word "LEGO" written on the studs, I'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between a Lumibrick brick and a LEGO brick!
