2023 LEGO City Advent Calendar: Day 18

Is your Christmas shopping completed?  How about your wrapping?  Today is the start of the final week leading up into Christmas so you better get to it if you haven't finished up yet!  Speaking of finishing up, we are heading into the final portion of this year's LEGO City Advent Calendar and to see what we got behind door #18 you'll have to scroll past today's spoiler-free image.

Alright, today brought us a trio of brightly colored, fully wrapped presents to go underneath yesterday's Christmas tree build.

Now, normally I wouldn't be a huge fan of something like this - a bunch of unconnected bits with no truly unique or overly interesting pieces.  However, I'm going to switch things up here and say that I do like today's build!  For one, I like the colors - each package is appropriately bright with matching bows.  Even better, I like that each of the three packages has a unique shape - it doesn't feel like a lazy effort on the part of the LEGO designers when the packages all look different.  I'm giving today's build a solid 4/5.

Oh, and did I mention things look great underneath yesterday's Christmas tree build?!

Yeah, that's a solid looking living room set-up thanks to a single Advent Calendar.  Sometimes the whole can actually be quite a bit better than the sum of the individual parts.

Overall score this year:  71/90 thus far.

  1. Nice shot with the clock, fireplace, tree, and presents. Although the presents themselves look decent... they're kinda plain. But it's hard to have an advent calendar without gifts :D

    1. Thanks for the kind words (and for stopping by)! It's been a solid little living room collection of builds this year - and yes, the presents do add a touch of merriment. My son is convinced the blue and orange present is disc golf discs for Dad.
