I've decided to try a new method of doing LEGO set reviews. My new idea is certainly inspired in large part due to my using Instagram a lot more often - you'll see the slides of my recent Instagram post below (which still works fine for a blog post). That said, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the format of my new set reviews.
I tried to take into account the most important qualities for a LEGO set for most people:
- Minifigures
- Build Experience
- Value for Money
- Play Value
- Overall
My Overall score takes into account everything to do with the set (cost, build experience, etc.), but it is not necessarily an average of the other categories. Instead, I'm taking a more holistic approach when evaluating each set overall!
Things I think I can improve:
- The size of the actual images of the set is too small compared to the large border. I think the slides would look better with larger photos!
- I should add the total number of pieces to the cover slide (and maybe the MSRP).
Something I was proud of that probably will go unnoticed by a lot of folks: the little icons in the brown circle on each slide. I tried to make the icon match the subject matter of that slide's review (minifigures, money, etc.).

As I mentioned, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how I can make a slide show review of LEGO sets better! I know that a lot of people have moved away from reading blogs, so I'm trying to keep up (and learning on the fly)!
