After today, we are halfway through the 2025 LEGO City Advent Calendar! It's amazing how quickly time flies when you are having fun (and opening up daily LEGO builds)!
Day 12:
Today, we get our second ride-on toy for the children in the calendar - a lime green skateboard with a magenta helmet. Safety first in LEGO City!
The last couple of Advent Calendar builds have been lacking in terms of building. At least today's gift required a small amount of assembly (the two wheel pieces needed to be attached). I think this could have been a true winner if the skateboard had some printing on it, especially if it were holiday-themed printing! As it stands, I'll give credit to the skateboard for having wheels that move (and thus something to "drive around" for my son to play with). It's not a total bust, but nothing too exciting. I think a 2/5 is in order for today's score.

At the halfway mark of this year's Calendar, we are on pace for a final score of 90/120. This would put us just behind each of the last two years' Calendars:
2024 LEGO City Calendar score: 92/120
2023 LEGO City Calendar score: 90.5/120
I was curious, so I went back and looked at the scores for each Calendar as of December 12. In 2024, we were sitting at 46/60, and in 2023, we were at 47/60. So yes, we are a bit behind pace, but only by a point or two at the moment. I'm excited to see what the second half of the Calendar brings us!
