After today, there will only be one week's worth of Advent Calendar doors to open up before we reach Christmas Day! With time going so fast, let's not waste any more time on the preamble to the blog post at hand.
Day 17:
Day 17 brought us the minifigure that I've been looking forward to getting. The Christmas Tree costumed kid was advertised front and center on the Advent Calendar itself, and I've been anxiously waiting to get the figure in hand to see if it's a cool as I was hoping it would be. The short answer is, yes, it's very cool!
This is easily my favorite minifigure of the Calendar, and quite possibly, my favorite from any LEGO City Advent Calendar that I've ever opened. The tree piece is great, I love the colored ornaments and the lights, and I love the texture of the different levels of pine boughs. Heck, it even comes with a present as the accessory, and it's one made from a 1x2 plate block, rather than your typical 3-plate tall block. Great stuff all around, an easy 5 out of 5 for today!
But wait, there's more! Yes, the minifigure has an alternate face (always appreciated), but what's really cool is that LEGO did not print the backside of the Christmas Tree costume. I think that's wonderful, because with a bit of clever placement, you could use the costume as a proper pine tree in a LEGO display!
LEGO absolutely crushed this one today!
Running Total Score: 65/85

Sweet minifigure! My favorite day so far.
