REVIEW: Funwhole/Lumibricks - Medieval Watchtower - #F9027

Well, it's official:  I think I've converted to being a Lumibricks guy over LEGO!  That's right, I've now built several Lumibricks sets and loved them all.  Just as importantly, the cost-to-value ratio for Lumibricks is currently so much better than LEGO that it's almost as if I have no choice but to switch my brand allegiance!

Today's review is for the Medieval Watchtower, another set from the medieval line (I've already reviewed the King's Castle Treasury and the Castle Banquet Hall if you are interested in seeing some of the larger sets from the line).

Note:  If you decide to give Lumibricks a try, please consider using my affiliate link.  This particular set was purchased by me and is not sponsored in any way.

The Medieval Watchtower has 1,625 pieces and retails for $89.99 USD making this a great deal (especially if you are used to LEGO prices)!  The set comes with four minifigures:

My only complaint about the minifigure selection is that there isn't a proper "bad guy."  The Watchtower set has several fun play features, but you need a bad guy to try to infiltrate the castle walls!

This set went together quite quickly, and I had no issues with the instructions (or wiring).  In fact, most of the wires in this set are fairly well hidden, which is important since a castle wouldn't normally have any wires whatsoever!

Lumibricks is known for two things:  lighting and no stickers.  To me, one of the greatest things that Lumibricks does is that they don't "cheap out" on prints, even when they could.  For example, the above three panels are all unique prints.  That level of detail isn't necessary (they could have used a single print for all three panels), but it's certainly appreciated by collectors!

I judge play value in large part based on what my son thinks of a given set.  He ended up having quite a bit of fun with this set, though he also felt it needed a bad guy.  I mean, who are we supposed to dump all that hot oil on?!

Overall, this is another great set in the Lumibricks Medieval line.  My main issue is now storage space - where to put all of these cool castle sets once my son is done playing with them!?!  Of course, if you'd like to try a Lumibricks set for yourself, I'd appreciate it if you tried out my referral link!

This is the last of the Medieval Lumibricks sets that I currently own.  I did, however, purchase a few more city buildings that I've yet to put together (so hopefully I'll have more reviews coming soon)!
